Jake's Biography
Jake grew up on Pen Llyn, North Wales, where a lifelong connection to the sea began with early mornings fishing with his father and later developed through scuba diving. Today, he spends much of his time in and under the water, exploring the rich habitats of the North Wales coast.
He studied Marine Biology at Bangor University and now works as Project Coordinator for Angel Shark Project: Wales, where he was the first to capture underwater footage of the Critically Endangered Angelshark in UK waters. Jake has also worked extensively with Project Seagrass, recently becoming a trustee of the charity.
Qualified as an HSE Professional Scuba Diver and BSAC Dive Leader, Jake has supported scientific, conservation, and media projects. His underwater camera work has featured on BBC, ITV, and S4C programmes, and as Co-Director of Dan Dwr Cymru, he collaborates with fellow divers to film Welsh marine life for television and film.
Passionate about sharing the hidden beauty beneath the waves, Jake uses photography, video, and writing to inspire others to discover and protect the incredible marine wildlife found along the Welsh coast.
